About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Coordinator to join our team at American Axle & Manufacturing. As a key member of our supply chain team, you will be responsible for scheduling and managing customer shipments, monitoring production, and controlling the procurement of raw materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage customer weekly and daily ship requirements and window times
  • Communicate with production and shipping departments to ensure smooth operations
  • Track raw material replenishment to ensure production coverage
  • Utilize reports to support daily and weekly operations
  • Help coordinate and communicate daily production build requirements to satisfy customer demand and maintain inventory targets
  • Review and maintain supplier forecasts on a weekly basis
  • Communicate proactively with trading partners to resolve issues
  • Expedite inbound and outbound material by identifying problems and resolutions
  • Maintain pull loop size based on PFEP recommendations
  • Monitor and update the PFEP collection plans for accuracy
  • Proactively elevate critical supply issues to management
  • Utilize the supplier scorecard to troubleshoot poor performing suppliers and work closely to improve supplier performance
  • Maintain inventory targets while continuing smooth operations

Requirements:

  • A strong understanding of supply chain management and procurement principles
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Experience with inventory management and control
