Lead User Experience Designer, Thomson Reuters

Role Overview

In this position as Lead User Experience Designer, you will:

Collaborate cross-functionally with design, program, and engineering teams from conceptualization to final design, establishing UX standards and producing assets to ensure exceptional quality throughout the development process. Act as a thought leader in crafting useful, usable, and appealing products within a collaborative team environment. Contribute to the development of use cases and high-level requirements while defining a UX strategy and creating user-centered designs informed by customer insights, market research, and usability evaluations. Present your design solutions to design, product, engineering, and senior management, synthesizing and managing feedback to make necessary adjustments and iterating on the vision and design as needed. Continuously refine and advance our design methodologies while learning from user interactions. Navigate through ambiguous scenarios and lead strategic discussions within the team while mentoring fellow designers. Collaborate strategically with other executives and team members across the organization.

Candidate Profile

You are an ideal candidate for the Lead User Experience Designer role if your experience includes:

Over 10 years of design expertise in creating straightforward solutions for intricate challenges. Proven experience in collaborating across teams to integrate feedback and insights from product management, engineering, and marketing. A robust portfolio showcasing your design process, craftsmanship, and the outcomes you have achieved. Familiarity with Agile methodologies. Knowledge of AI and Generative AI technologies. Confidence in thriving within a dynamic, passionate team environment. Strong skills in time management, multitasking, and prioritization. Proficient critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in designing solutions across a product suite with complex workflows tailored for specialized and niche clientele. Background in breaking down product silos by delivering interconnected solutions. Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to implement design solutions. Proven ability to envision and deliver solutions for large-scale projects characterized by complexity that often spans organizational boundaries. Strong verbal communication and presentation skills, including experience in influencing senior leadership. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or a related field. A demonstrated history of gathering user data through usability studies, user research, and analytics synthesis.
