Job Description

The Software Architecture Technology Group (SATG) enables our vision for software and advanced technology by delivering open and secure software platforms, driving industry standards, and ensuring that software is a powerful competitive differentiator for Intel. Within SATG, the System Software Architecture (SSA) team is responsible for enabling Intel's broad portfolio of products and technologies across Linux ecosystem partners to drive adoption and support via Operating System Vendors (OSVs) and Cloud Service Providers (CSPs). This work involves co-engineering with Linux community and Operating System Vendors.

As a Senior Software Validation OS Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, integration, testing, validation, and debugging of software across multiple layers of the stack, including firmware, drivers, operating systems, middleware, frameworks, algorithms, and applications/UI. You will collaborate with architects and engineers across cross-functional teams to deliver an OS Vendor consumable solution for Intel technology adoption.

You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies from both the software and hardware worlds, alongside domain experts in the industry (internal and external). To be successful in this role, you should be passionate about software development and have a growth-oriented mindset, interested in learning the operating system stack and new technologies. You should be able to evaluate solutions, determine their merits, and lead deployment independently. Additionally, you should have excellent problem-solving and communication skills with stakeholders.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Software Validation OS Engineer who possesses the following skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Electrical Engineering, or Software Engineering, or any other related field
  • 4+ years of experience in developing, enhancing, and automating test cases, from unit tests to end-to-end multi-machine workloads
  • Experience working with and debugging unstable hardware, identifying system-level issues (firmware, hardware, or OS)
  • Intermediate to advanced English level
  • Must have unrestricted - permanent right to work in Mexico
  • Experience in test automation, managing and automating CI/CD flows for systems (GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, etc.)
  • Familiarity with modern QA and Infrastructure deployment practices, along with creating effective communication dashboards
  • Experience analyzing complex systems and data
