Job Summary:

SGI Global, LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to support the Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) in Mexico City, Mexico. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drug demand reduction and a proven track record of developing and implementing effective projects in this field.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide strategic guidance to INL on developing and implementing drug demand reduction projects in Mexico.
  2. Assist INL in designing, developing, implementing, monitoring, and reporting on capacity building projects related to drug demand reduction.
  3. Collaborate with US Government inter-agency colleagues, international organizations, and foreign governments to coordinate and develop drug demand reduction projects.
  4. Conduct research and analysis to identify best practices in drug demand reduction and provide recommendations to INL.
  5. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, NGOs, and community leaders.
  6. Provide technical assistance and training to Mexican institutions on drug demand reduction strategies and best practices.
  7. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of drug demand reduction projects and provide recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications:

  1. Mexican Citizen or Third Country National.
  2. Spanish FSI level 4/4.
  3. English FSI level 4/4.
  4. Master's degree in international relations, public policy, criminal justice, or law enforcement; or Bachelor's degree with five (5) years related experience from an accredited institution.
  5. A combination of ten (10) years' experience in progressive professional experience in GOM and/or domestic or international non-governmental organizations, including a minimum of five (5) years working on drug demand reduction related projects.
  6. A minimum of three (3) years' experience in design and implementation of capacity building projects bridging criminal justice and public health sectors and their ability to prevent and treat substance use disorders to reduce recidivism.
  7. Experience drafting statements of work, change maps, notices of funding opportunity, training plans, and related documents.
  8. Knowledge of Mexican health, security, and justice institutions and their role in implementing Mexican drug treatment strategies.
  9. Ability to communicate clearly in written and oral contexts with diverse audiences ranging from senior U.S. and GOM officials to end users of drug treatment and prevention services.
  10. Ability to pass a U.S. Embassy RSO security background check.
  11. Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
