Job Title: Drug Demand Reduction Program Assistant

SGI Global LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to support the Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) in Mexico City, Mexico.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will assist INL in designing, implementing, monitoring, and reporting of Drug Demand reduction programs (DDR), analyzing drug use trends and challenges, and developing and implementing projects to address them.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist INL in designing and implementing Drug Demand reduction programs (DDR) in Mexico City, Mexico.
  • Analyze drug use trends and challenges, and develop and implement projects to address them.
  • Meet with various Government of Mexico (GOM) counterpart agencies and international non-governmental organizations to identify needs, draft requirements, and propose solutions.
  • Provide professional and administrative support services to work with the U.S. Foreign Assistance Program to Mexico.
Qualifications:
  • Mexican Citizen or Third Country National.
  • Spanish FSI level 4/4.
  • English FSI level 3/3.
  • Bachelor's degree in international relations, criminal justice, law enforcement, social sciences, or associate degree with two (2) years related experience from an accredited institution or four (4) years of related experience in the justice sector, law enforcement, international development, international affairs, or public administration.
  • A combination of four (4) years' experience in progressive professional career within the GOM and/or domestic or international non-governmental organizations. Experience working with drug demand reduction programs and/or related experience is preferred.
  • Ability to pass a U.S. Embassy RSO security background check.
  • Ability to deal effectively with senior U.S. and GOM officials.
  • Experience in drafting and authoring weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
