Job Summary

The Product Line Purchasing Leader is a key role at Aptiv plc, responsible for driving growth through strategic procurement initiatives. This position will focus on supporting the company's expansion by developing and implementing effective procurement strategies across the entire product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and enforce corporate, divisional, and procurement policies and procedures.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives by engaging with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers.
  • Lead the early supplier selection process and implement strategic supplier development.
  • Address supply chain and supplier-related issues impacting supply, quality, and material performance.
  • Collaborate with product line teams to develop strategic suppliers.
Key Activities
  • Lead supplier selection, including RFQ process, supplier evaluation, and communication.
  • Manage global procurement activities for the global product line across all customer projects worldwide.
  • Responsible for change management process for procurement and project planning.
  • Represent the procurement team in cross-functional discussions and lead technical supplier discussions.
  • Act as the central interface between the global product line and central procurement team.
  • Lead and represent procurement in reviews with the senior management team.
  • Deliver committed material performance for projects globally.
  • Drive categories to deliver on P2P and engineering to deliver on design cost-saving initiatives.
  • Support the business in research and use of new technology suppliers.
  • Manage global procurement financial risk and opportunity tracker.
  • Determine material cost for new programs and approve purchased parts business cases.
Requirements
  • Results-driven with proven ability to get results in challenging environments.
  • Ability to influence and communicate clearly with an understanding of the audience.
  • Creative thinker with ability to think innovatively and creatively to resolve problems.
  • Strategic approach with ability to develop, implement, and document strategies and execution plans for long-term initiatives.
  • Strong communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Teamwork with ability to develop and foster strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Knowledge of the semiconductors industry, key players, technologies, and electronics procurement.
  • Management experience (8y+) in purchasing or engineering.
  • Languages: Fluent in English.
  • Education: Degree (Bachelor or higher) in industrial or electrical engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
  • EE or mechanical engineering degree.
  • Lean expertise.
  • Additional languages (Spanish, Chinese).
  • Experience in safety electronics.
