Job Summary

As a Payroll Specialist at Polaris Inc., you will be responsible for executing the company's biweekly payroll processes, ensuring compliance with wage attachment regulations, and providing exceptional customer service to employees. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced office environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine biweekly payroll data entry, including commissions, deductions, new hires, and terms.
  • Partner with the Payroll and HR teams to coordinate and execute biweekly payroll processing with location personnel and Ceridian.
  • Process employee travel reimbursements and expense reporting through Concur.
  • Process employee garnishment, child support, and levy wage attachments, staying up to date on regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Work with the Payroll team on acquisition initiatives related to payroll and employee integration.
  • Provide superior customer service to employees with payroll and expense reporting questions.
  • Maintain payroll procedures manual, respond to wage verifications, track tax rates, and changes.
  • Work with the Payroll team to perform special payroll runs, such as annual bonuses and stock.
  • Participate in biweekly payroll communication meetings and interact with internal contacts to resolve issues.
  • Assist in special projects as needed.
Requirements
  • Strong analytical skills and team player with good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • Ability to manage interruptions during the workday to meet employee and company needs.
  • Proficient to excellent skills with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
  • Extensive attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Preferred certifications include Certified Payroll Processing (CPP) or Fundamentals of Payroll (FPC).
  • Experience in payroll processing in a multi-location manufacturing environment with over 3000 employees.
  • Ceridian Source 550 software experience.
  • Workday software experience.
  • Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and standard payroll practices.
  • 4-year degree in accounting, human resources, or a related field.
