We are seeking an experienced EHS Specialist I to join our team at Johnson Controls. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities- Support the implementation of CTPAT, OEA, JCMS, ISO 14001, 45001, FM Global, and other regulatory requirements.
- Participate in risk management activities, including hazard identification, assessment, and control.
- Investigate incidents and nonconformities to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Manage waste disposition processes and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Support external compliance audits and perform incident investigations.
- Develop and support Job Safety Analyses for routine and non-routine activities.
- Verify unsafe conditions and actions in production areas.
- Perform Safe Track observations and follow up on assigned activities.
- Ensure government reporting and record-keeping in a timely manner.
- Schedule and maintain annual compliance studies on time.
- Participate in EHS committee activities and ensure EHS training for employees.
- Conduct monthly 5's audits and ensure compliance with EHS policies.
- Provide support to the EHS Manager as needed.
- Education: Environmental & Safety engineering or similar degree.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience as EHS Technician or similar position.
- Knowledge: Risk management, Mexican laws and regulations, waste management, ISO, CTPAT, OEA, Management of Change, job safety analysis, problem-solving, and incident investigation methods.
- Skills: Excellent communication skills, teamwork, self-management, leadership thinking, proactivity, planning, and organizing.
