About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Community Engineer to join our team at Canonical. As a Community Engineer, you will play a critical role in facilitating the growth and success of our open source community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with our distributed team to develop and implement community initiatives
  • Write high-quality content to promote and support community projects
  • Engage with the community through various channels, including AskUbuntu, IRC, and social media
  • Represent Canonical at conferences and events, showcasing our commitment to open source and community development
  • Nurture community contributions to Ubuntu, ensuring the project remains vibrant and sustainable
Requirements
  • Strong technical skills, with experience in open source software development, Linux, and community building
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Passion for open source and community-driven projects, with a clear understanding of the benefits and challenges
  • Experience with community management, developer advocacy, and software development
  • Ability to work autonomously, with a high degree of ownership and accountability
