Job Title: Analyst Collection

Location: Ingredion Shared Service Center

Reports to: Sr. Analyst Collection (LATAM)

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Analyst Collection to join our team at Ingredion Shared Service Center in Guadalajara, Mexico. As an Analyst Collection, you will be responsible for managing the LATAM SSC's accounts receivable process by performing timely and effective collections activities of past due accounts.

  • Process and investigate payment data for LATAM customers through SAP software against open items on customer accounts.
  • Reconcile and resolve any payment discrepancies and customer account issues in a timely manner.
  • Execute all cash applications of LATAM customer accounts in SAP, reconciling with customers to avoid any demurrage triggered by entry mistakes.
  • Investigate and resolve deductions/overpayments posted on LATAM customer accounts and reconcile with internal/external customers to reach a timely resolution and avoid invoice delinquencies.
  • Follow up on exceptions and invoice delivery, updating any operational changes requested by customers.
  • Participate in a training rotation for the four responsibilities within the collection cells (Cash Collections, Cash Apps, Reconciliation, and Exceptions/Invoices Deliveries).

Responsibilities:

Business:

  • Perform timely and effective collections of past due accounts to expedite payments from customers in accordance with the terms of sale and company policies.
  • Process and investigate payment data for LATAM customers through SAP software against open items on customer accounts.
  • Timely advise the Collection Sr. Analyst / Collection Manager / Credit Sr. Analyst of any bad credit risk.
  • Provide backup documentation for customer short payments/overpayments to Collection Sr. Analyst(s).
  • Execute the daily application of payments against customer accounts receivable sub-ledger in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain updated credit documents, notes, and collection follow-ups in the customer account at ACT and forward any documentation/information requests to the internal requestor.

Agility and Innovation:

  • Reconcile and investigate overpayments and short payments on customer accounts with internal departments (sales, billing, customer service, plants, etc.) to reach a final resolution.
  • Provide supporting documentation of discrepancies for quick resolution and ensure the organizational accounting integrity of customer accounts.
  • Ensure individual account integrity through the research and reconciliation of account discrepancies.
  • Maintain timely communication with customers and/or Sr. Collection Analyst(s) regarding cash application issues.
  • Effectively and timely upload all requested information and documents by customers at their portals.

Relationships and People:

  • Work with the Credit Sr. Analyst / Collection Manager to minimize potential losses due to bad debts.
  • Maintain good relations with Sales personnel and customers when dealing with past due accounts to maximize sales and minimize potential losses due to bad debt while strengthening customer goodwill and improving payment performance.
  • Keep effective communication with Collection Manager and Credit Sr. Analyst on collection issues as they arise.
  • Advise Accounting and Treasury of miscoded wire payments.
  • Maintain effective communication with Collection Sr. Analyst and Collection Manager on daily cash applications.

Requirements:

  • A College Degree in Business, Accounting, or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of experience in collections, deduction management, or cash application of accounts required.
  • Working knowledge of A/R and collection department operations.
  • Process-oriented with attention to detail and follow-up; accurate and proficient data entry skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proven record of initiative.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining effective relationships with customers, sales professionals, and inside support staff.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software applications (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • High multitasking proven proficiency.
