Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is seeking a Cost Accountant Specialist.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be part of the Finance group, responsible for proper accounting of the balance sheet and P&L for multiple ledgers and legal entities in accordance with Eaton Financial Policy, Mexican GAAP, and US GAAP. This includes ensuring compliance with statutory, fiscal, and tax requirements for Mexican legal entities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the annual costing roll process, monthly tracking, and margin variations related to COGS;
  • Ensure proper registration and reconciliation of payroll and benefits between TRESS ERP and SAP Financial modules, travel, and expense processing;
  • Ensure compliance of accounts payable activities, such as invoice processing, debit memo processing, management of monthly cash outflows, recurring payment, and supplier payment follow-up activities, payroll, and benefits, travel, and expense processing, hold resolution, and compliance with electronic invoicing regulations, and addressing supplier payment issues among others;
  • Establish and monitor compliance with internal accounting controls deemed necessary to ensure integrity of financial transactions, reporting, and activities in adherence with corporate policies and procedures; ensure compliance of statutory requirements as applicable to the plant;
  • Responsible for the implementation and deployment of actions to ensure an adequate environment of fiscal compliance and internal control across the plant; provide compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and all applicable statutory requirements as applicable across various functions;
  • Coordinate and manage Mexican tax and audit compliance activities; ensure timely submission of fiscal requirements to auditors and authorities;
  • Support Eaton's ethics and values as well as quality policies;
  • Coordinate and evaluation of savings projects.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a similar field;
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with cost accounting, preferably with knowledge of US GAAP, SAP, and electronic data processing systems.

Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in:

  • General accounting and credit collection;
  • Spreadsheet software packages and computer system literacy;
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
