Senior Operations Manager

As a key member of our operations team at Servicios Comerciales Amazon Mexico S. De R.L. De C.V., you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of Operations and Area Managers to achieve exceptional performance and operational excellence at our Sort Center.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Budget Management: Own and deliver the operational budget for the entire Sort Center, including safety, productivity, financial planning, labor planning, and operational goals.
- Strategic Planning: Provide strategic level/long-term planning, including labor planning, rate forecasting, and peak season planning, to ensure the successful execution of business objectives.
- Leadership and Performance Management: Set clear goals and expectations for Operations and Area Managers, measure performance, provide feedback, and hold leaders accountable for achieving operational excellence.
- Quality and Process Improvement: Drive the creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives, and other Lean initiatives to enable the functional area and ultimately the Sort Center to meet and exceed business plan.
- Best Practices Sharing: Proactively ensure that best practices are shared across all departments, shifts, and among the network to foster a culture of operational excellence.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with support staff, including HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT, and other Site Leaders/General Managers, to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives.
A Day in the Life
As a Senior Operations Manager, you will spend most of your time on site, developing your team and collaborating on operational planning. You will be responsible for managing and motivating a team of leaders while focusing on long-term objectives, including creating contingency plans to keep operations running and mitigating against disruptions.
Requirements
- Education: Degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related field, with an MBA preferred.
- Experience: 7+ years of direct management experience, including a salaried workforce, in a manufacturing, production, or distribution environment.
- Skills: Experience with performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean techniques, as well as proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and oral.
- Personal Qualities: Ability to handle changing priorities, use good judgment in stressful situations, and interest in long-term career development through assignments in multiple operations across the nation.
