Job Summary

The American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) seeks a highly skilled and experienced Senior Program Manager to lead its program in Mexico. This is a full-time position that requires a strong understanding of program management, strategic leadership, and collaboration with regional and global teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement program strategies to achieve AFSC's regional and global goals, in alignment with the organization's Theories of Change and Action.
  • Provide strategic leadership to the Mexico Program, ensuring that minimum standards are met in program management, human resources, finance, security, health and safety, and other areas.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Director and Regional Coordination team to identify new funding sources and negotiate funding opportunities to support program implementation.
  • Promote inclusion and diversity in program planning and management, with a focus on issues of difference within communities, young people's leadership, gender equality, and community engagement.
  • Develop and implement a framework for program implementation, in consultation with staff, partner agencies, communities, and government.
  • Assess and plan for capacity strengthening of local partner non-governmental organizations.
  • Ensure timely submission of all required program narrative and financial reports.
  • Contribute to the development of advocacy strategies to influence changes at local, national, and international levels, in collaboration with the Regional Director and Policy, Education, and Advocacy Coordinator.
  • Monitor and analyze the context to design strategies for managing identified risks, in line with AFSC's Security Policy.
  • Participate in the Security Task Force group for LAC, in coordination with Engage country program staff and staff at all levels, to facilitate the adoption and compliance with AFSC's Safety and Security Policy and Standards.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as international development, social sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in program management, strategic leadership, and collaboration with regional and global teams.
  • Strong understanding of program management, strategic leadership, and collaboration with regional and global teams.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages.
