Job Description

Valeo is a leading global technology company that designs innovative solutions to revolutionize mobility. As a Project Buyer - Sourcing, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of mobility by leading the sourcing process for Valeo's projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the sourcing process from CAA preparation to project closure, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.
  • Participate in project meetings and activities, including project kick-off, sourcing plan, technical steering committee, and project management committee.
  • Support project managers in preparing sourcing plans, defining mutual project team commitments, and conditions for proceeding with pre-SoCo (RFQ), SoCo (award), and SOP at required QCD conditions.
  • Identify critical parts as per CLEAN definitions, review contingency plans with related project teams, and request PM arbitration when required.
  • Involve segment leaders in project constraints and propose sourcing strategies compliant with group segment strategies.
  • Select supplier bid-lists based on compliant segment panels and liaise with project and segment organizations to identify bundle opportunities.
  • Assess pre-selected suppliers' risk impacts on the project related to development or production capacity, technical or quality capability, and financial sustainability.
  • Propose mitigation plans with project teams and commodity organizations, ensuring they are properly recorded in PuMa Pre-SoCo & SoCo pages.
  • Coordinate S-VRF definition and plan supplier design reviews to ensure supplier full understanding, capture improvement proposals, obtain supplier acceptance of Valeo requirements, and enhance competition at equivalent scope.
  • Install competition between suppliers, bringing at least two suppliers at the same technical level, and proceed with all negotiations to ensure successful RFQ and/or auction processes.
  • Perform RFQ processes via PuMa & Auction (live or online).
  • Leverage commodity organizations to reach pre-sourcing, sourcing decisions, and meet project targets.
  • Ensure timely sign-off with segments of all supplier contracts related to the project, from development contracts to mass production.
  • Coordinate with PG/PL PPD, platform lead buyers, and other project buyers to ensure project meets from SOP: commodity strategy, localization needs of receiving plants, global leverage, and securitization of the supply base for the platform.
  • Manage achievement of all project milestones related to suppliers and follow progress of PQA stages.
  • Define and control communication flows and contents between project teams and suppliers, ensuring all necessary documentation is properly stored in PuMa.
  • Make the best possible use of all PuMa features and promote its usage among project teams.
  • Pilot and forecast the project purchasing index and lead the productivity action plan (VP & PTBV) to reach CAA targets.
  • Ensure proper transfer to serial production, including productivity actions yet to implement (PTBV).
  • For advanced purchasing (P3/P2): propose and validate with commodity organizations pre-sourcing target suppliers, manage all contractual aspects to protect Valeo intellectual property and segment panels.
