Job Summary

The Credit Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of accounts receivables, ensuring that invoices are accurate and dispersed in a timely manner. This includes following up on delinquent accounts, researching and deciding on credit authorization for incoming customers, and upholding the policies and procedures outlined in the credit policy.

Candidate Profile

Education and Experience

• A bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting or a related major is required; no work experience is necessary.

Core Work Activities

Managing Work, Projects, and Policies

• The Credit Manager generates and provides accurate and timely results in the form of reports and presentations.

• The role involves compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data.

• The Credit Manager completes accounts receivable period-end closing functions and procedures, including credit and period-end reporting.

• The role upholds the policies and procedures outlined in the credit policy.

• The Credit Manager interacts with sales and catering staff for timely credit decisions on incoming customers.

Demonstrating and Applying Accounting Knowledge to Credit Management Issues

• The Credit Manager demonstrates knowledge of job-relevant issues, products, systems, and processes.

• The role uses computers and computer systems to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information.

• The Credit Manager uses relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.

• The role keeps up-to-date technically and applies new knowledge to the job.

• The Credit Manager stays knowledgeable of accounts receivable systems.

Leading Credit Management Team

• The Credit Manager utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocates sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; leads by example.

• The role staffs, manages, and develops all billing and accounts receivable employees.

Maintaining Finance and Accounting Goals

• The Credit Manager submits reports in a timely manner, ensuring delivery deadlines.

• The role ensures profits and losses are documented accurately.

• The Credit Manager achieves and exceeds goals, including performance goals, budget goals, team goals, etc.

• The role develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.

• The Credit Manager monitors all taxes that apply, ensuring that taxes are current, collected, and/or accrued.

• The role ensures property billings are sent error-free and in a timely manner.

• The Credit Manager monitors receivables for timely collections and follows up with appropriate collection correspondence.

Additional Responsibilities

• The Credit Manager provides information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, email, or in person.

• The role provides direction and assistance to other organizational units regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures, and efficient control and utilization of financial resources.

• The Credit Manager analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems.

• The role informs and/or updates executives, peers, and subordinates on relevant information in a timely manner.

• The Credit Manager maintains positive working relations with customers and department managers.
