Position Overview: The Taxation Lead for LATAM Region will oversee the review and assessment of federal tax obligations up to the payment stage, ensuring compliance with tax responsibilities for designated entities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the timely execution of LATAM tax processes, ensuring accurate accounting practices are adhered to in accordance with legal requirements.
  • Supervise the preparation of Tax Returns and Transfer Pricing documentation across LATAM.
  • Coordinate and address information requests promptly, including compilations, electronic audits, and refund processes.
  • Review tax accounting balances, ensuring adherence to corporate tax policies and striving for zero balances in all LATAM tax accounts.
  • Execute projects and initiatives aligned with business needs.
  • Monitor and report Effective Tax Rate (ETR) compliance with legal and corporate tax standards.
  • Administer and oversee tax entries in SAP and manage user access to tax systems.
  • Foster a motivated and engaged tax team.
  • Drive continuous improvement in LATAM tax processing efficiency.
  • Maintain effective communication with local and corporate tax departments, providing timely responses to funding inquiries.
  • Review contracts, draft legal documents, and interpret tax legislation.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate for the Taxation Lead position will possess:

  • Strong multitasking abilities.
  • A high level of responsibility and commitment to compliance.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A collaborative team-oriented approach.
  • Robust problem-solving capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting with a specialization in Taxation, accompanied by at least 5 years of relevant experience in LATAM tax matters.
  • A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in accounting and taxation, with proficiency in federal, state, and municipal tax regulations, including IMSS.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Excel, and familiarity with business and tax software.
  • Excellent listening and customer service abilities.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish; knowledge of Brazilian Portuguese is preferred.
  • Understanding of Mexican GAAP and US GAAP.
