The Role
The Sales Order Team Leader plays a critical role in business change, requiring good leadership skills and a solid operational understanding of customer invoicing processes. This role involves building and leading a high-performing team in Mexico.
Key Accountabilities
The central Sales Order team in finance operations supports timely and accurate customer invoicing and revenue recognition. The role directly manages sales order specialists and coordinators.
Key Responsibilities
- Building and leading a local team of 4-10 Sales Order specialists in Mexico
- Ensuring high team morale and performance in a right-sized team
- Supporting the Sales Order Manager and being a point of escalation for the Sales Order team
- Embedding a continuous improvement mindset and leading CI initiatives to improve quality, efficiency, and reduce workload seasonality
- Contributing to an efficient risk management environment and implementing suitable internal controls
- Quality Management, including building and maintaining a knowledge base and supporting personal development
- Building a strong back-up structure to allocate workload and reduce operational pressure
- Holiday planning for the team to avoid high planned absenteeism and reduce risk during ad-hoc absences or high workload seasons
- Team performance management, including regular KPI reporting and individual conversations
- Understanding operational activities and supporting or owning processes run by the Sales Order team
- Translating departmental objectives into individuals' goals
- Building partnerships with stakeholders in Finance, CST, and Delivery
Skills & Experience
Critical Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Ability to lead a high-performing and engaged team
- Cross-functional knowledge to understand how sales order activities impact profitability, accounting, cash management, and local reporting needs
- Proficiency in extracting, analyzing, and summarizing numerical transactional data, including experience in data analysis in MS Excel
- Ability to understand contractual terms impacting customer invoicing value and timeline
- Ability to recommend and justify operational changes with reference to other teams' business needs
- Good understanding of services offered by AMS
- Continuous improvement mindset
Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Project management and change management experience
- Experience in customer invoicing in a multinational environment
- Performance management experience
- Experience in using ATS, Decisions, or MS D365
- Experience in working with senior leadership teams
- Risk management and quality management experience
