About the Role
The Accounts Payable Analyst LATAM is a key position within Avery Dennison, responsible for the preparation and maintenance of financial records, ledgers, and journal entries. This role requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and verify internal consistency, completeness, and mathematical accuracy of accounting documents, making adjustments as necessary.
- Assign prescribed accounting distribution codes and post registers or subsidiary ledgers.
- Perform account reconciliation, troubleshoot, and analyze discrepancies.
- Assemble, analyze, and audit various accounts, verifying payment and making recommendations for improvements.
- May assist in preparing, adjusting, and closing journal entries, as well as analyzing financial reports and records.
- Audit, review, and verify accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records.
- Conduct special studies and develop or recommend accounting methods and procedures.
- Coordinate accounting matters with other departments, locations, and divisions.
- Utilize computer systems to input, retrieve, or display accounting information.
- Approve payment of eligible invoices and expense reports to A/P.
- Collect, analyze, and report on data, as well as assist with year-end closings and preparation of working papers for audits.
- Verify funds are available for expenses and maintain knowledge of financial rules and regulations for countries in LATAM.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field, or equivalent education and years of experience.
- 3+ years of finance or accounting experience with P&L or related experience.
- Demonstrated skills in financial planning and analysis, financial/profitability modeling, and ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Self-starter with ability to work independently, understanding of applicable computer systems, and experience in Google Sheets.
- Well-developed leadership and project management skills, excellent oral, presentation, and written communication skills, and fluency in English.
