Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and well-rounded Social Impact and Human-Labor Rights Management Consultant to join our team in Mexico City.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development of ERM's social impact services across various sectors and clients in Mexico, working closely with ERM's technical community leaders.
  • Manage team members and develop their technical skills.
  • Lead individual projects, including liaising with clients, managing budgets, and organizing teams.
  • Work with ERM's business development teams and leaders across Latin America to maintain existing client relationships and grow new client portfolios in Mexico and beyond.
  • Provide guidance on mentoring and expanding the social performance team within the Mexican Business Unit.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Social Sciences, Communications, Anthropology, or related field. Preference given to candidates with a graduate degree.
  • At least 8 years of progressive experience in social performance issues, including Social Impact Assessment, Social Performance, and Labor Human Rights.
  • Strong understanding of national regulations and laws related to stakeholder consultation, land acquisition, and Corporate Social Responsibility.
  • Experience developing and implementing Social Impact Assessments, Stakeholder Engagement Plans, and Resettlement and Land Acquisition Plans for various sectors.
  • Good working knowledge of international standards, such as the IFC's Performance Standards on Sustainable Development or the Equator Principles.
  • Experience monitoring and evaluating project compliance with applicable standards.
  • Experience in designing and implementing grievance mechanisms.
  • Excellent Project Management and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to handle multiple assignments while meeting strict deadlines.
  • A willingness to travel within Mexico, with up to 50% travel expected.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in Spanish and English.
