About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Database Engineer to join our dynamic Cloud Operations Team at Thomson Reuters. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud-based database infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise in the implementation, service delivery, and support of cloud-based database systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive down incident rates and improve service recovery times.
  • Assist in the implementation process to ensure seamless operability and maintain or improve existing service levels.
  • Comply with operational standards, procedures, and best practices.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in Oracle/PostgreSQL database administration, with expertise in supporting Oracle database 10g/11g/12c with RAC/Non-RAC on ASM/Non-ASM environments.
  • Exposure to Oracle database configuration, maintenance, cloning, patching, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in using database tools such as Tkprof, Awr, Statspack, ADDM, Opatch, ASMCMD, SRVCTL, and CRSCTL.
  • Proven working experience as a database administrator, with hands-on experience with database standards and end-user applications.
  • Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity, and SQL.
  • Familiarity with database design, documentation, and coding.
  • Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third-party tools.
  • Familiarity with programming languages and API problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux, including basic commands and basic shell scripting.
  • Exposure to backup and recovery (Oracle RMAN, Import/Export, and Datapump).
  • Oracle database installation 11g/12c on Windows and Unix environments.
  • Oracle database advanced installation 12c (RAC and ASM).
  • Exposure to Dataguard implementation and maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of performance monitoring and tuning.
