About the Role

The Manufacturing Engineer Manager is a key position at Regal Rexnord Corporation, responsible for organizing and managing the manufacturing engineering resources of the Apodaca 3, Mx facility. This role requires effective leadership and problem-solving skills to meet objectives and ensure quality production with maximum efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct the organization toward its primary engineering objectives based on long-term product and profitability goals.
  • Determine the schedule of new product releases and/or deadlines.
  • Establish procedures, standards, and systems within engineering to effectively use resources and contribute to policy deployment objectives.
  • Establish and follow up annual objectives for all members of the department.
  • Determine and conduct viable research and development projects which will yield substantial future reduced costs and product improvements.
  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of manufacturing tools and fixtures.
  • Ensure tooling is optimized for production efficiency and quality.
  • Manage tooling budgets and timelines, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
  • Act as a technical consultant to other departments and customers.
  • Assist in resolving complex quality issues and create an atmosphere of proactive quality.
  • Review and calculate labor, material, and other production costs along with reviewing schedules and future production requirements to assist management in decision making.
  • Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement, and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Assist the plant to achieve product schedule compliance through various departmental contributions.
  • Provide necessary support to ensure machines are functioning reliably.
  • Maintain accurate routes and standards.
  • Identify capital needs to address process improvements and meet operational goals, providing innovative and cost-effective means.
  • Constantly seek material repurpose opportunities to reduce excess/obsolete inventory.

  • Demonstrated understanding of common manufacturing processes, equipment, or machinery, including strong knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic applications. Metal mechanics and gear manufacturing are preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with reading and understanding blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
  • Strong analytical ability to recognize the need for modification of procedures or processes, identify root cause, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions where limited standardization or information exists.
  • Strong interpersonal skills which foster teamwork and collaboration and develop high-quality working relationships to influence, gain support, and achieve results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively deliver and transfer knowledge of technical concepts to production associates and respond to questions.
  • Advanced level proficiency with CAD and MS Office software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated understanding of finance, capital appropriations, and budgeting practices and ability to perform manufacturing analysis and estimate cost of labor, equipment, material, and assembly capabilities.
  • Proven ability to lead change through an organization.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline is required.
  • 8+ years of engineering experience in a fast-paced manufacturing production and/or machining environment with proven success in implementing process or product improvements is required.
  • Experience using advanced quality tools and/or lean manufacturing concepts is required.
  • SME certification is desired.
  • Education or training in CNC Machining, robotics, and/or test equipment is required.
  • Experience with turning, milling, and grinding processes is desired.
  • Experience with gear design (hobbing, skiving, and grinding) is desired.
  • Prior experience with mechanical assembly, product testing, electromechanical power transmission technology, and applications is desired.
