Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our VPC team at Wallenius Wilhelmsen. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the VPC processes to achieve profitability results, ensuring compliance with operational processes, and maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Communication and Client Management

Develop and maintain assertive communication with clients, ensuring compliance with client requirements, including legal and operational areas.

Reporting and Leadership

Report VPC status and results to the WW leadership team, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.

Strategic Planning

Develop long and short-term strategies in support of VPC objectives, aligning with company goals and objectives.

Operational Excellence

Ensure that coordinating and planning activities support VPC objectives, maintaining a safe and cost-efficient work environment that meets performance targets.

Training and Development

Develop and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge, promoting professional development and future growth.

Compliance and Risk Management

Ensure compliance with all WW policies and procedures, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to company confidentiality policies and applicable laws.

Team Leadership

Lead and motivate VPC staff, fostering a team-oriented approach to problem-solving and driving continuous process improvements.

Performance Management

Establish routine management targets for the VPC, identifying and implementing cost reduction activities, and ensuring that VPC efficiency standards are met and/or exceeded.

Quality Management

Implement and manage lean waste objectives and projects, ensuring that total quality management principles are executed, and that workplace safety standards are met.

Requirements

A good fit for this position has 5-7 years of experience in planning and directing operations, with expertise in:

  1. Change Management

Inspiring change through communication at all impacted levels.

Financial Acumen

Understanding revenue drivers and efficiency standards to deliver positive financial results.

Process Improvement

Leading continuous process improvements to achieve a safe and cost-efficient work environment that meets performance targets.

Operational Knowledge

SOP, MRP, TQM, JIT, Kaizen, 5S, and visual factory management.

Must possess a valid driver's license and be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel software applications.

Advanced English language skills are required.
