Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer/ IoT Specialist to join our team in Apodaca, N.L and Tlaxcala locations. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) for production areas/lines, designing and integrating system design software, and leading development and integration of system design software for MES.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement MES for Production Areas/Lines
    • Parametrize and set up MES for customer products
  • Design and Integrate System Design Software
    • Actively participate in design reviews for processes requiring MES deployment
    • Give input on data collection and retention at each step
  • Lead Development and Integration of System Design Software
    • Define equipment required to achieve requirements of equipment specification
    • Plan and provide detailed training on system design, maintenance, and troubleshooting to various customer skills to maintain system uptime
  • Support Existing System Designs and Production Issues
    • Support existing system designs and production issues will be required both locally and at various sites globally
  • Drive Definition of Facility Network, Firewalls, Cybersecurity, and VPN Requirements
    • Drive definition of facility network, firewalls, cybersecurity, and VPN requirements to support MES systems
  • Troubleshoot Non-Typical Machine Failures
    • Troubleshoot non-typical machine failures using software and electrical knowledge
  • Maintain Up-to-Date Knowledge of Technologies
    • Maintain up to date knowledge of technologies and utilize this knowledge to specify and develop innovative solutions
  • Utilize Continuous Improvement Methodology
    • Utilize continuous improvement methodology to improve internal industrial processes
  • Develop Technical Knowledge on Manufacturing Equipment and Process Automation Systems
    • Develop technical knowledge on manufacturing equipment and process automation systems
Requirements
  • Education
    • Degree or Master in Electrical/Electronic/Informatics/Automation Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience
    • 3+ years of experience in a role in Manufacturing IT, Engineering, and/or Automation
  • Skills
    • Strong command of system design software (LabVIEW, TestStand)
    • Basic knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, SQL or MySQL)
    • Extensive experience with OPC Unified Architecture platform
    • Strong knowledge of communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet, CAN, Profibus)
    • Strong PLC programming (Unity, ProWORX, SoMachine)
    • Basic configuring and designing of HMI systems
    • Familiar with vision systems (Cognex, Keyence)
    • Electronic circuit knowledge: digital, analog, power, and high voltage
  • Critical Behaviors
    • Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal)
    • Proven ability to work successfully in a multicultural, virtual environment across various functions (design engineering, purchasing, quality, marketing, finance, mfg operations, and others)
    • Work with minimal supervision
