Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team at Jabil Circuit. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of routine and non-routine accounts payable functions in accordance with standard procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Creates month-end reports to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
  • Contacts other departments, outside agencies, and vendors to resolve problems and ensure smooth operations.
  • Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.
  • Matches, posts, and files vendor invoices and purchase orders to ensure accurate and timely payment.
  • Troubleshoots invoice discrepancies with regard to quantity and price to ensure accurate payment.
  • Assigns proper accounting numbers to invoices to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Enters invoices into computerized tracking system to ensure accurate and timely payment.
  • Obtains required approvals of invoices prior to billing or payment to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Monitors and reports on key measurables, including GRIR analysis and review, debits in accounts payable open items, and unprocessed returns.
  • Measures the ratio of GRIR to accounts payable monthly to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Requirements
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer, including using a Windows-based operating system and related software.
  • Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil's software packages.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and read and understand visual aids.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
