About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Government Relations Manager to support our business interests in Mexico. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing and assessing relevant public policy issues and their implications on our company's operations in the region.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of government relations, public policy, and regulatory affairs in Mexico. They will work closely with our Director of Government Relations in Mexico to develop and drive stakeholder engagement strategies, as well as execute and manage policy engagements for our company in the country.

Key Responsibilities
  • Track, monitor, and provide assessment of strategic/policy issues and their implications on our commercial interests in Mexico
  • Develop and provide recommendations to our senior management and relevant business units concerning political, policy, and regulatory issues
  • Identify and map key policy stakeholders, including political office holders, government officials, regulators, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, and industry associations
  • Develop and drive engagement strategies to reach out and build strategic relationships with key stakeholders to strengthen our network of partners
  • Formulate and execute advocacy plans to translate policy engagements into tangible commercial outcomes to secure our market access and expansion efforts
  • Develop and drive strategic communications plans and partnerships in support of our overall policy positioning and profiling
  • Organize and manage meetings with external parties, including the preparation of briefing notes/presentations for senior management's reference
  • Plan, organize, and manage networking platforms
Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree in International Relations, Political Science, Global Studies, Law, Economics, or related field
  • At least 6 years of working experience in government relations or public policy
  • Experience in policy research, development, analysis, and advocacy
  • Excellent policy and regulatory network in Mexico, with a demonstrated ability to effectively and comfortably interact at the highest corporate/political levels to undertake advocacy work
  • Track record of effectively solving complex issues and delivering strong results while maintaining the highest standards
  • Keen interest to translate policy/regulatory engagements into tangible commercial outcomes
  • Strong experience within a government agency with economic/finance/tax policy-making function would be preferred
  • Strong analytical, presentation (written and oral), and project management skills
  • Strong proficiency in English and Spanish
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task and have exceptional attention to detail while operating in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
