Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:
- Build, develop, and lead a high-performing platform engineering team.
- Define and execute the platform strategy, aligning it with business goals.
- Establish and oversee comprehensive testing and quality assurance processes to ensure product quality.
- Implement and improve DevOps practices to streamline development and deployment processes.
- Build and maintain a resilient infrastructure through SRE principles and practices.
- Design, implement, and manage the underlying infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage.
- Optimize database performance and efficiency through fine-tuning and performance analysis.
- Implement cost optimization strategies and monitor spending in AWS and other services to maximize ROI.
- Work closely with developers to ensure alignment and efficient collaboration.
- Lead incident response and post-incident analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Keep management teams apprised of progress, challenges, growth planning, and incidents regularly.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computing or related.
- Experience as a Platform Engineering Manager or similar role.
- Background in software engineering, cloud platforms (preferably AWS), and infrastructure.
- Experience with Python and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Deep understanding of testing, quality assurance, DevOps, SRE, and infrastructure management.
- Experience with database administration and optimization.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Experience in cost management and optimization for cloud environments.
- Experience in interviewing and hiring.
- Fluent in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience or certifications in AWS.
- Previous experience with serverless applications.
- Intermediate Spanish.
