Job Description

Purchasing Administrator (S___)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchasing Administrator to support our North America purchasing organization in a global matrix organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining accurate supplier data, verifying bank information, and supporting the Indirect Purchasing organization in projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supplier Data Management: Create new vendor profiles for both direct and indirect North America suppliers, and maintain accurate vendor master information in SAP, including vendor addresses, contacts, and payment terms.
  2. Banking Information Verification: Work closely with accounts payable to update and maintain supplier banking information, including performing bank verifications with suppliers.
  3. Vendor Data Review: Regularly review vendor master and work with buyers across the organization to eliminate redundant and incorrect vendor data.
  4. Process Improvement: Drive vendor creation and maintenance process improvement with key users and SAP technical team.
  5. Master Data Maintenance: Perform Master Data Maintenance (MDM) for system upgrades, transformation, and acquisitions.
  6. Sanction List Checks: Perform sanction list checks for all new vendors and changes.
  7. Project Support: Support Ariba implementation and Indirect Purchasing team on projects.
  8. Global Collaboration: Work closely with counterparts globally.
  9. Documentation: Ensure clear work instructions and process documentation is accurate and maintained at all times.

Requirements:

  • Business Experience: 2 or more years of business experience in purchasing, finance, supply chain, project management, or process management.
  • SAP Knowledge: Understanding of SAP is preferred.
  • Industry Experience: Automotive or transportation environment preferred.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to work across all functions and locations.
  • Organization: Highly organized with the ability to prioritize exceptionally well.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify root cause and present corrective actions.
  • Teamwork: Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Computer Skills: Computer skills including Microsoft Office Excel and PowerPoint.

Education:

  • Degree: Associates degree in Business or Supply Chain preferred.
  • Certification: Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
