Job Description:

Eaton's AER FED Fluid Electrical Distribution division is currently seeking a Buyer who will perform a variety of activities including planning, procurement, negotiation, and follow-up activities to provide a variety of commodities in support of the planning process of Aerospace manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procure direct materials to support production.
  • Manage and develop suppliers to ensure optimal quality and delivery.
  • Develop, maintain, and foster strong supplier relationships.
  • Collect data and prepare reports for day-to-day operations and present recommendations for continuous improvement (cost, quality, and delivery).
  • Support engineering, production, accounting, and quality on non-departmental led projects.
  • Use problem-solving tools (8D, A3, etc.) to solve specific problems related to supplier deliveries/cost.
  • Procure material in accordance with SMART rules and policies.
  • Ensure planning parameters are maintained to improve supplier OTD, customer OTD, and minimize inventory levels.
  • Provide input to the SIOP to align Supply and Demand on responsible parts.
  • Conduct supplier visits as required and participate in the qualification of quality system audits.
  • Develop and maintain Order Policy Parameters based on corporate guidelines.

Requirements:

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Aerospace experience preferred.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Lean and sig sigma knowledge.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • ISM CSMP or APICS CSCP preferred.
