About the Role

In this exciting opportunity as a Lead UX Design Manager, you will:

  • Model - Establish the bar for your team by setting the standard for great design at Thomson Reuters. Identify opportunities to influence designs, ensuring the team delivers on expectations that support impactful customer experiences.
  • Coach - Create and communicate clear goals for your team, outlining expectations that support the delivery of meaningful work against the team's OKRs. Establish trusting relationships with your team and peers, creating partnerships that build on ideas and excel understanding.
  • Care - Provide guidance and direction to focus your team on delivery. Hold yourself and your team accountable for the success of your product(s) and ground your decisions in data. Nurture the wellbeing and success of your team through supportive behavior, inspiring team etiquette and inclusion, and demonstrating progress.

About You:

  • BA/BS in information science, information design, computer science, human computer interaction (HCI), instructional design, learning technology, assistive technology, or related field, or equivalent industry training/experience.
  • 2+ years managing design teams.
  • Proficiency in your craft with a passion to extend your knowledge of UX design principles, modern design tools, emerging technologies, Agile development, accessibility, and industry practices and trends through your team.
  • A portfolio of work demonstrating your experience, understanding, and process of creating human-centered design solutions with measurable results.
  • Experience partnering and delivering with groups across the organization, including Product Management, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing.
  • Confidence working with strong, passionate partners, balancing competing priorities and goals in fast-paced environments.
  • Influence skills and the ability to effectively deal with ambiguous situations and make decisions.
  • Excellent communication, storytelling, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate complex interaction concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in graphic design, fine art, visual communications, HCI, or related field (or equivalent industry training/experience).
  • Familiarity with Web standards (W3C and 508) and best practices for interaction design and Accessibility.
  • Agency experience a plus.
