Job Title: Product Engineer

The Product Engineer is a key member of our engineering team, responsible for designing, developing, and improving products to meet customer needs, industry standards, and company goals. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle, from concept to production.

The Product Engineer conducts feasibility studies, oversees prototype testing, and resolves technical issues. Additionally, they refine production processes to enhance product quality, ensuring regulatory compliance and continuous innovation, cost reduction, and performance improvement. Strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and effective teamwork are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design of Tooling and Auxiliary Equipment: Design and develop tooling and auxiliary equipment for process and product development.
  • Operating Parameters: Propose operating parameters for new developments.
  • Quality Management System: Update and review documents established in the Quality Management System.
  • Interdisciplinary Efforts: Coordinate interdisciplinary efforts for new product development.
  • Validation Tests: Define when required and conduct validation tests on product characteristics.
  • New Product Development: Document the stages of new product development.
  • Compliance: Comply with policies, procedures, and the Quality Management System.
  • Safety Policies: Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Product Performance: Analyze product performance and recommend design modifications to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to the production team to troubleshoot and resolve product-related issues during manufacturing.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • Guidance and Support: Provide guidance and technical support to junior engineers, technicians, and other team members.
  • Project Execution: Coordinate efforts across departments to ensure successful project execution and adherence to timelines.
  • Engineering Tasks: Oversee specific engineering tasks, ensuring compliance with product goals, quality standards, and company policies.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in product development, manufacturing processes, or engineering design.
  • Quality Management Systems: Experience with Quality Management Systems (ISO standards or equivalent) and safety regulations.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong problem-solving abilities, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment, with occasional travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree: Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) software and advanced manufacturing techniques (e.g., lean manufacturing, Six Sigma).
  • Emerging Technologies: Knowledge of advanced materials and emerging technologies in product development.

Additional Information:

  • Equipment: Standard office equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE), and shipping and logistics software systems.
  • Requirements: Must be legally authorized to work in Mexico without restrictions, undergo a satisfactory background check, and pass a post-offer drug screening and physical examination (if required).
