Job Summary:

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for creating and managing purchase orders and DRP requirements for materials needed to support manufacturing at our site in Nogales, Mexico. This role involves developing reports and analysis to ensure on-time delivery of materials and maintaining adequate inventory levels. The Procurement Specialist will also manage local information required by procurement to generate complaints to transportation companies when materials are damaged in transit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analysis of raw material requirements to support Nogales manufacturing requirements
  • Create, monitor, and manage purchase orders for materials under responsibility
  • Ensure on-time delivery of raw material orders
  • Work with the planning group to understand materials requirements for better on-time deliveries and inventory control
  • Expedite purchase orders when needed
  • Monitor and analyze material inventory to ensure adequate inventory levels and implement action plans to reduce inventory when required
  • Manage information required by transportation to create transportation complaints when materials are damaged in transit
  • Cooperate with engineering on new product introductions to ensure timely delivery of materials required for the project
  • Work with the procurement team to ensure chemicals are delivered in compliance with ISO 14001:2015 specifications and requirements

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 3 years of experience in purchasing-related positions
  • Experience in MRP systems (materials requirements planning)
  • Experience in Lean manufacturing and ISO 9000 requirements
  • Management of inventory control systems
  • Organized, proactive, team work, and good communication skills
  • Able to work under pressure and develop, follow action plans
