Senior Security Incident Response Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Security Incident Response Engineer to join our team at Oracle. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for supervising our security tools, performing investigations of escalated notable events, and ensuring the effectiveness of our processes.
Key Responsibilities- Perform in-depth investigations of intensified notable events to identify and mitigate potential security threats.
- Collect and analyze evidence related to security events, including compliance audits and validation of processes and procedures.
- Identify and address false positives, and implement initial mitigation and containment procedures as needed.
- Develop and maintain reporting related to security events, and coordinate with service and operations teams to validate security events and anomalous activity.
- Resolve and report on possible causes of security events and alerts, and operate security tools for continual monitoring and analysis of system/network activity.
- Assist in the construction of security alerts and processes based on knowledge gained from daily monitoring and triage.
- Supervise external data sources to maintain basic knowledge of threat conditions, and recognize and respond to potential security violations.
- Strong understanding of computer networking concepts and protocols, network security methodologies, and host/network access control mechanisms.
- Knowledge of intrusion detection methodologies and techniques, and the ability to interpret network traffic and identify malicious activity.
- Experience with security tools, including SIEM systems, and the ability to analyze and interpret security event data.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments in high-pressure situations.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with virtual and remote teams.
- Ability to function in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Experience with cybersecurity and incident response, including knowledge of threat actors, tactics, techniques, and procedures.
- Knowledge of operating systems, network protocols, and cybersecurity principles and methods.
- Experience with security tools, including network tools, host-based tools, and SIEM systems.
- Ability to analyze and interpret security event data, and to identify and mitigate potential security threats.
