About the Role
As a Procurement Project Manager at Siemens Energy, you will play a key role in integrating procurement management processes and project teams at an early stage during the sales phase. Your primary responsibility will be to organize procurement activities in a project, ensuring the optimum deployment of resources.
A Snapshot of Your Day:
- You will implement procurement strategies to optimize project results, including the availability of goods and services in quality, on time, and within budget.
- You will source, evaluate, and engage with suppliers, including traveling to their facilities as needed.
- You will ensure the observance of obligatory procurement processes and regulations.
How You'll Make an Impact:
- You will provide Project Procurement Management (PPM) support for demands within the Siemens Energy Service Controls & Digitalization organization and in North America.
- You will actively lead business projects with all sourcing requirements end-to-end, from project kick-off to delivery/installation, as the assigned PPM.
- You will source suppliers, evaluate them, and closely review their quality and processes, which may require traveling to suppliers' facilities and reviewing their manufacturing processes.
- You will establish sourcing processes, control all procurement activities in the project, and inform all involved team members to deliver optimum impact for the business.
- You will analyze the scope of supply, contractual obligations, and customer functional needs, identify procurement risks, opportunities, potential changes, claims, and market forces during the entire project.
- You will prepare bids, contribute to increased hit rates, and support project calculations with reliable and up-to-date cost data based on Total Cost of Ownership (ToCO).
- You will derive procurement strategies for assigned projects in accordance with the organization's procurement strategies and ensure implementation.
- You will lead contractual and price negotiations and/or support assigned buyers responsible for material fields to secure project targets with optimum conditions.
- You will ensure that major procurement risks, changes to the original scope of supply, and potential claims are covered in valid contracts.
- You will proactively ensure status visibility about availability of materials, parts, and resources and early alerting in case of deviations.
What You Bring:
- You have a Bachelor's degree or high school diploma with direct experience required.
- You have 5+ years of experience within the energy industry, including 4-6 years of supply chain management experience.
- You have a demonstrated track record as a transformative leader, collaborator, and change agent capable of getting results.
- You have cross-functional and cross-departmental communication, collaboration, and relationship building with individuals from functional departments across the company and with external suppliers.
- You are fluent in English.
