Security Operations Center Analyst

Avertium, a leading managed security and consulting provider, seeks a skilled Security Operations Center Analyst to join its team. In today's complex threat landscape, our clients require more than just a standard approach to cybersecurity. They need a smarter, stronger approach based on more rigor, more relevance, and more responsiveness.
The ideal candidate will work collaboratively to detect and respond to information security incidents, maintain and follow procedures for security event alerting, and participate in security investigations. Key responsibilities include:
Key Responsibilities:- Monitor and Assess Organizational Risks: Utilize security information and event management (SIEM) software and dashboards to identify and mitigate potential threats.
- Provide Client Recommendations: Leverage knowledge of computer networking, applications, and security to offer expert advice on remediating identified threats.
- Respond to Security-Related Tickets: Collaborate with clients to resolve security events and maintain a high level of client satisfaction.
- Work Flexible Shifts: Be available to work one of three shifts, including day, swing, nights, and weekends.
- Identify and Escalate Issues: Recognize and report any issues with monitoring applications.
- Complete Training and Certification Courses: Meet established training and development goals to stay up-to-date on industry best practices.
- Strong Understanding of Cybersecurity Principles: Possess a solid grasp of computer networking, cybersecurity concepts, operating systems, and customer service experience.
- Education and Certifications: Hold an Associate's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or 1-2 years of successful professional experience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC). Industry security certifications, such as Security+, CCNP, or CCNA, are highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Prior experience with SIEM software, endpoint security, vulnerability scanning tools, and threat/attack trends is essential.
- Soft Skills: Demonstrate a positive attitude, a desire to learn and grow, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
