Global Technical Support Specialist

Job Summary:
Ciena is seeking a skilled Technical Support Engineer to provide system-level pre and post-sales support for our global customers. This role involves troubleshooting and resolving network faults, performance issues, and configuration problems in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming customer calls and document information for technical investigation
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues using debug tools and lab research
- Provide on-call duties 24/7 and work shifts, including public holidays and weekends
- Recover information necessary to escalate issues to senior engineers
- Contribute to the technical knowledge base (KCS)
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science)
- Zero to three years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Foundational knowledge of fiber optic transport and/or switching equipment
- Excellent communication skills with English language proficiency
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
