About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Consultant to join our Global Corporate Office Network Service team at SAP. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of data network services in our Internal Corporate Network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, operate, and continuously improve the global network infrastructure for our WAN, Internet, and LAN services using managed services providers.
  • Collaborate with other Regional Core Network Services team colleagues to ensure that the network infrastructure is delivered in accordance with business requirements and global standards.
  • Work with managed service providers to provide second and/or third-line support and implementation, including 3rd party resources.
  • Participate in the transformation of our network services using a combination of hands-on skills and provider knowledge.
  • Coordinate the installation, configuration, deployment, and maintenance of routers, switches, firewalls, and other network equipment using 3rd party implementation staff.
  • Ensure compliance of network infrastructure to global standards and ensure that service and operations level agreements are met.
  • Provide third/fourth-line incident support and work closely with our L1-L3 Managed Service Providers to ensure the service meets business requirements.
  • Work with global teams to investigate and evaluate new network technologies, design, and deploy solutions globally.
  • Interact with other technology teams as needed and have experience in other enterprise-level operations (LAN, WLAN, DNS, Security, etc).

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Communications Engineering, or equivalent working knowledge.
  • 6+ years of experience as a Senior Network Engineer in a global networking environment.
  • Minimum Cisco CCNP Routing and Switching or proven equivalent knowledge.
  • Excellent knowledge of design and operations of Layer 2/Layer 3 routing and switching, preferably Cisco Networks.
  • Working knowledge of firewall routing configurations desired. Direct knowledge of Palo Alto a plus, with experience in Prisma cloud product a huge plus.
  • Familiar to strong knowledge of firewall policy concepts not required, but a plus.
  • Strong knowledge in routing and switching, including OSPF. Working knowledge of LAN, BGP routing protocols, DNS, DHCP platforms, and Network Access Control.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving, with autonomous and proactive working behavior.

Preferred Skills

  • Project Coordination Skills.
  • Real-world IPv6 routing and switching.
  • Experience in other enterprise-level operations (LAN, WLAN, DNS, Security, etc).
