Job Summary

As a Procurement Specialist II at Jabil Circuit, you will play a critical role in managing the company's materials supply chain to ensure that demand is met while optimizing overall cost. This position requires a strong understanding of procurement strategies and the ability to develop and implement effective supply chain solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Implement Procurement Strategies
    Develop and execute supply base and supply chain strategies that meet the needs of Jabil's customers and business units.
  2. Support Customer Business Needs
    Collaborate with purchasing managers and supply chain managers to determine the best approach to meet customer needs and influence customer supply chain strategies to leverage Jabil's capabilities.
  3. Manage Supplier Relationships
    Communicate Jabil's expectations to suppliers, conduct supplier audits and visits, and obtain feedback from materials planners on supplier performance.
  4. Improve Supply Chain Initiatives
    Support and execute Jabil's supply chain initiatives and strategies, and provide inputs to improve SCM processes.
  5. Quote and Negotiate Materials
    Quote new and existing materials, negotiate with suppliers to capitalize on cost reduction opportunities, and make sourcing decisions based on overall cost and benefit.
  6. Negotiate Terms and Conditions
    Negotiate terms and conditions that protect Jabil's interests and its customers, including liability terms, special stocking arrangements, and other agreements.
  7. Ensure Execution of Agreements
    Ensure the execution of Jabil's pricing and terms and conditions agreements, including World Wide Purchasing Agreements.
  8. Improve Sourcing Options
    Work with Jabil's internal resources and customers to add Jabil preferred and/or strategic suppliers to customer-approved manufacturer lists.
  9. Analyze and Project Component Purchase Prices
    Analyze and project component purchase prices that accurately reflect inventory value for financial periods in the standard costing process.
  10. Provide Input to Determine Quoted Cost
    Provide input to determine quoted cost to customers that is competitive yet maximizes materials price variance.
  11. Continuously Optimize MPV
    Continuously optimize materials price variance by reducing the cost of materials and limiting unfavorable price variance.
  12. Collaborate with Materials Planners
    Collaborate with materials planners to monitor, track, and provide feedback on supplier performance for continuous improvement.
  13. Ensure Supplier Support
    Work with materials planners to ensure that suppliers support overall business needs of Jabil.
  14. Adhere to Safety and Health Rules
    Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
  15. Comply with Company Security Policy
    Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
