LATAM Tax Management Leader

Position Overview: The Tax Management Leader for LATAM will oversee the comprehensive review and analysis of federal taxation processes leading up to payment, ensuring compliance with tax obligations for designated entities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the timely execution of LATAM tax processes, ensuring accurate accounting practices in accordance with local laws for annual taxes, provisional payments, and tax withholdings.
  • Manage the preparation of Tax Returns and Transfer Pricing documentation across LATAM.
  • Coordinate and address information requests efficiently, including compilations, electronic audits, and refund processes.
  • Review tax accounting balances to ensure adherence to corporate tax policies, aiming for zero balances in all LATAM tax accounts.
  • Lead projects and initiatives aligned with business needs.
  • Monitor and report Effective Tax Rate (ETR) compliance with legal and corporate standards.
  • Administer and oversee tax booking processes, including SAP and other tax system users.
  • Foster a motivated and engaged tax team.
  • Drive continuous improvement in LATAM tax processing efficiency.
  • Maintain effective communication with local and corporate tax departments, providing prompt responses to funding inquiries.
  • Review contracts, prepare legal documents, and interpret tax laws.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting with a specialization in Taxation, accompanied by at least 5 years of relevant experience in LATAM tax matters.
  • A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in accounting and taxation, showcasing expertise in federal, state, and municipal taxes, including IMSS.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience supervising multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly Excel, and other business and tax software.
  • Excellent listening and customer service abilities.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish; knowledge of Brazilian Portuguese is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Mexican GAAP and US GAAP standards.
