Job Title: Logistics Procurement Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Procurement Specialist to join our team at General Motors. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for sourcing, managing, and maintaining contracts for various logistics services, including customs services, sea containers, and freight forwarders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing and managing contracts for logistics services, including customs services, sea containers, and freight forwarders.
  • Negotiating commodity service costs to increase productivity and profitability in logistics operations.
  • Developing and maintaining good communication with business partners, including suppliers and logistics providers.
  • Maintaining SAP systems in accordance with contracts and internal customer requests.
  • Supporting internal customers with spot buy requests and updates on scope of requests based on business and market changes.
  • Working closely with business partners to strengthen relationships and achieve mutual benefits.
  • Acquiring knowledge of General Motors' internal systems for contract management.
  • Coordinating data collection and monthly submission for Accelerate and Opex initiatives for Logistics Purchasing.
  • Leading contract management and updates on APV Purchasing Logistics file to ensure all data is up-to-date.
  • Following correct timing on pre-RFQs, recommendations, and PDI generation for commodities and sourcing.
  • Planning and scheduling staff meetings and following up on open items, shared agendas management, and updates on new implementations.
  • Leading PDI monthly and random audits on Logistics Purchasing commodities.
  • Leading random and monthly audits on spot buys to ensure best price, service, and benefit for final customers.
  • Analyzing complexity and establishing clear objectives to present to leaders and establishing clear measurable results and processes.

Requirements:

  • High-level analytical ability in complex situations.
  • Negotiation and purchasing processes experience.
  • Experience in customs, logistics, and/or supply chain.
  • Experience in systems such as SAP and Microsoft Office packages.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, and Power BI.
  • Preferrably knowledge on macros development.
  • Experience in developing collaborative relationships and partnerships at all levels of the organization and with external business partners to drive business results.
  • Experience in process mapping and documentation.
