Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Vice President Operations Manager to join our team at Hsbc. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing post-trade support activities, managing collateral and settlement operations, and leading investigations and resolutions of failing transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collateral and Settlement Operations: Manage oversight for collateral and settlement operations for US businesses, ensuring compliance with risk and control frameworks and escalation procedures.
  2. Investigation and Resolution: Lead investigations and resolutions of failing transactions for US businesses, working closely with stakeholders to identify and implement process improvements.
  3. Escalation and Issue Resolution: Act as an escalation contact and resolve settlement issues and collateral disputes, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  4. Process Efficiency and Improvement: Drive process efficiencies to improve service quality, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes to enhance operational performance.
  5. Business and Operations Management: Engage and build strong relationships with business and operations management teams, driving overall business objectives and achieving set performance benchmarks.
  6. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the team to resolve issues, share knowledge, and provide support to ensure seamless operations.
  7. Performance and Development: Achieve set performance benchmarks and targets, continuously increasing process knowledge through cross-training and professional development.
Requirements and Skills
  1. Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of US market for settlements and collateral, stock borrowing and lending operations, and familiarity with Tri-Party and Bi-Lateral Processes.
  2. Virtual Team Environment: Ability to work in a virtual team environment, supporting multiple functions and stakeholders, and possessing strong attention to detail and a hands-on approach to identify opportunities for process improvement.
  3. Operations Risk and Control: Strong awareness and appreciation of operations risk and control, exception management, and a firm understanding of LEAN and 6 Sigma methodologies.
  4. Education and Experience: A degree in Business or Finance, with 5-8 years of experience in operations processing, and a strong understanding of Equity products and front-to-back trade lifecycle process.
  5. Technology and Markets Operations: Familiar working knowledge of associated technology, understanding of Markets Operations, and ability to work in a demanding and time-sensitive environment.
