Senior Cloud Engineer

Role Overview

In the capacity of Senior Cloud Engineer , your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating closely with Development teams to facilitate the deployment and management of their applications on the AWS/Azure cloud infrastructure.
  • Streamlining and automating our operational processes.
  • Creating and sustaining tools for deployment, monitoring, and operational management, while diagnosing and resolving issues in both non-production and production settings.
  • Developing tools that guarantee availability, automation, performance, efficiency, scalability, monitoring, and emergency response for various cloud initiatives undertaken by Thomson Reuters teams.
  • Leveraging your profound understanding of system availability, architecture, personnel, systems, and processes to perpetually enhance uptime, performance, deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting capabilities.

Candidate Profile

You are an ideal candidate for the Senior Cloud Engineer role if you possess:

  • Over 5 years of experience in DevOps and/or Cloud environments.
  • Proficiency in Azure/AWS cloud platforms, including services such as S3, CloudFront, CloudFormation, RDS, OpenSearch, and Active MQ.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices, preferably utilizing AWS Developer tools.
  • Scripting skills, ideally in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Experience in planning, constructing, and deploying cloud-based solutions, including containerization and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Bicep, Terraform, or Ansible, along with GitHub Actions and GitOps methodologies.
  • Background in building and deploying .NET Core or Java-based solutions, with experience in implementing testing strategies within a continuous deployment framework.
  • Capability to establish monitoring tools and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.
