Senior Policy Manager, Latin America Public Affairs

Servicios Comerciales Amazon Mexico S. De R.L. De C.V. seeks a Senior Policy Manager to lead its public policy efforts in Mexico.

The ideal candidate will have at least 12 years of experience in government relations and a strong understanding of the Mexican federal policymaking process.

This position requires effective communication and advocacy skills in Spanish and English, both written and oral. The successful candidate will be able to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing strategies on priority policy issues to support business, customers, and employees in Mexico.
  • Working closely with other public policy teams, Legal, PR, and relevant business units to ensure alignment with business priorities and goals.
  • Maintaining relationships with trade associations, think tanks, advocacy groups, and other external stakeholders.
  • Monitoring and reporting relevant legislative and regulatory activity in Mexico.
  • Cordinating external advocacy efforts, outreach programs, and key initiatives in concert with business objectives.

Requirements:

  • BS/BA required.
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in government or representing a large, complex company or association.
  • Demonstrated ability to be both a substantive issue expert and a manager of complex political relationships.
  • Experience working with public policy stakeholders and managing multiple policy issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand how technical language in legislative and regulatory proposals could affect corporate operations, identify business implications, and synthesize policy documents for internal customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate with, and persuade others.
  • Highly effective oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills.
  • A self-starter who can take general direction and produce specific results.

We offer a competitive salary of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Other benefits include:
