Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled GL Accountant & Payroll Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for supporting various aspects of payroll accounting and General Ledger operations.
Key Responsibilities- General Ledger Accounting:
- Assist in the month and year end close, preparing journal entries and reconciling the general ledger ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Analyze financial data and provide explanations for variances.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations of assigned GL accounts.
- Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and external regulations.
- Assist with audits and provide documentation as required by external auditors.
- Support the preparation of tax filings, including payroll taxes, sales taxes, and other regulatory reporting requirements.
- Payroll Support:
- Assist with the preparation and processing of domestic and international payroll, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Maintain payroll records, including timesheets, and employee deductions.
- Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, deductions, and timesheets.
- Reconcile payroll-related accounts and prepare necessary journal entries.
- Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee data in the payroll system.
- Identify opportunities to enhance payroll and accounting processes. Implement best practices to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- 3+ years General Ledger and Payroll experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Ability to multitask, stay organized and prioritize deadlines in fast-paced and continuously changing environment.
- A team player with experience working in remote culture.
- Structure, organized and sharp attention to detail is a must.
