Ciudad de México, Ciudad de México Elsevier A tiempo completo

Are you looking to make a meaningful impact by enabling data-driven solutions that support global health?

Do you want to join a collaborative, inclusive, and innovative team where your work helps improve healthcare outcomes worldwide?

About our Team:

Elsevier Health applies innovation, facilitates insights, and helps drive more informed decision-making for our customers across global health. We support health providers by providing accessible, trusted evidence-based information; prepare more medical and nursing students with effective tools and resources; provide insights that help clinicians improve patient outcomes; and support a more personalized and localized healthcare experience. All for the benefit of every patient.

About the Role:

In this position, you will perform advanced research and data engineering work within a specialized engineering area or product line. You will contribute directly to project plans, schedules, and methodologies for cross-functional product development.

As a Senior Data Engineer I, you will be instrumental in designing secure, scalable, and reliable data infrastructure that supports global operations. You will collaborate across diverse teams to ensure seamless data flow and the delivery of high‑quality information used for analysis and decision-making. Your work will enable effective data sharing, visualization, and storytelling—creating tangible impact for colleagues, customers, and the healthcare community.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement robust data orchestration and transformation solutions.

  • Ensure reliable delivery of high-quality data for analysis, reporting, and sharing.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, maintain, and promote coding and technical standards.

  • Partner with DevOps to automate deployments and apply Infrastructure as Code (Iaff) for consistent environments.

  • Build reusable frameworks, modular components, and common deployment patterns using Airflow.

  • Document best practices and support knowledge sharing across teams.

  • Improve platform reliability and scalability through enhanced logging, monitoring, and observability.

  • Identify and address gaps in the data platform, support DataOps initiatives, and incorporate user feedback.

Requirements:

  • Experience with modern data stack technologies such as Airflow, Snowflake, and DBT. Experience with Tableau, Sisense, AWS, GitHub, Terraform, and/or Docker is highly desirable.

  • Ability to create deployable data pipelines and ETL/ELT solutions using Python, SQL, or Jinja.

  • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), DataOps, and DevOps practices.

  • Active participation in Agile environments and commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with openness to feedback and new ideas.

  • Familiarity with designing secure, scalable, and cost‑effective cloud‑based data solutions.

  • Understanding of data governance, privacy, and security practices.

We encourage applicants from all backgrounds and identities. If you meet most requirements but not all, we still encourage you to apply.

Work in a way that works for you:

We promote a healthy work/life balance across the organization. We provide a flexible and supportive environment where all colleagues can thrive.
