We're looking for a Senior Android Developer to help scale Clara's Android experience and shape the future of financial software in Latin America. You'll be a technical expert on the Mobile Engineering – Android team, setting best practices, delivering high-impact features, and mentoring fellow developers. You'll collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams to deliver fast, secure, and delightful mobile experiences.
In this role, you will:
Drive Clara's Android technical roadmap in collaboration with Engineering leadership.
Architect modular, reusable components using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern Android libraries.
Lead development initiatives of new product features while improving app reliability, performance, and maintainability.
Promote and uphold high engineering standards through code reviews and mentorship.
Contribute to hiring and onboarding as we scale the Android team.
Advocate for a product-driven, quality-focused mobile engineering culture.
We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.
Must haves7+ years of professional Android development experience, including 2+ years in a senior or technical leadership role.
Deep expertise with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Android architectural patterns (e.g., MVVM, Clean Architecture).
Experience with dependency injection frameworks like Hilt or Dagger.
Familiarity with performance tuning, crash reporting, and CI/CD pipelines.
Working proficiency in English and Spanish.
Strong communication skills and a track record of mentoring or coaching engineers.
Experience working in a fintech or other highly regulated industry.
Knowledge of CI/CD, A/B testing frameworks, and analytics integration in Android apps.
Interest in leveraging AI tools to automate development workflows.
Basic proficiency in Portuguese or interest in learning.

Clara's Hybrid Policy
Claridians in a hybrid mode split their time between working from the office, talking to or visiting customers, or working from home. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for each individual and team.
We don't enforce a minimum number of days for most roles, but you're expected to spend time at the office organically, and be at the office most days during your ramp-up or when required by your leader.
