SAP BI/BW Consultant Lead

SAP BI/BW Lead Consultant

The SAP Lead BI/BW Consultant is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering innovative analytical and reporting solutions, leveraging the most current SAP technologies to drive business insights and decision-making. This role requires expertise in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), SAP Datasphere, and other analytics tools, enabling organizations to adopt a comprehensive SAP Analytics strategy.

As a leader, you will collaborate with functional and technical resources to ensure successful SAP implementations, manage the analytics/reporting stream, and guide your team to deliver high-quality solutions. The consultant must possess hands-on technical skills with SAP BI technologies, strategic thinking to define and implement business analytical strategies, and leadership capabilities to mentor and manage resources.

This role includes developing and supporting advanced analytics, conducting workshops, creating integrated SAP reporting strategies, and aligning analytics solutions with business needs.

Responsibilities Include:

• SAP Analytics Leadership:
• Define and implement a holistic SAP Analytics strategy leveraging SAC, Datasphere, and Embedded Analytics to meet business objectives.
• Lead the development and adoption of SAP Datasphere for integrated, cloud-based analytics and data warehousing solutions.
• Incorporate SAC capabilities, including planning, predictive analytics, and dashboarding, into reporting solutions.
• Development & Delivery:
• Hands-on development in various SAP BI/BW technologies, including SAP Datasphere, SAC, BW/4HANA, and HANA Modeling.
• Create comprehensive technical specification documents for SAC dashboards, Datasphere models, and BI/BW reports.
• Ensure the integration of SAC and Datasphere with existing data warehousing and BI infrastructure.
• Workstream Leadership:
• Lead the Analytics/Reporting workstream, from requirements gathering to go-live, focusing on integrating SAP tools across platforms.
• Develop analytics and reporting plans, manage deadlines, and coordinate team efforts to deliver on project timelines.
• Workshops & Strategy Development:
• Conduct explore workshops to identify and finalize analytic requirements, with a focus on demonstrating SAC capabilities.
• Develop business analytical strategies that incorporate SAC, Datasphere, and BI/BW tools, and present these solutions to clients or internal teams.
• Team & Resource Management:
• Mentor and guide the analytics team in adopting best practices for SAC, Datasphere, and BW/BI development.
• Forecast resource requirements across projects to maintain high team utilization and efficiency.
• Testing & Go-Live Support:
• Support unit testing, SIT, UAT, and performance testing activities for analytics/reporting solutions.
• Develop and execute a cut-over strategy for reporting activities during go-live.
• Stakeholder Communication:
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver analytical solutions that align with business goals and SAP's strategic vision for analytics.
• Monitor and report analytics and reporting stream progress to PMO and key stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Technical Expertise:
• 8+ years of experience in modeling, development, and maintenance of SAP BI/BW solutions.
• Good knowledge of SAP Analytics Cloud and the last release and available functionalities. 
• Proven experience with SAP Datasphere (Data Warehouse Cloud) and S/4 HANA Embedded Analytics.
• Strong skills in HANA Modeling, CDS Views development, and integration of SAP tools.
• Familiarity with predictive analytics and planning features within SAC.
• Strategic Vision:
• Demonstrated ability to define and implement end-to-end SAP Analytics strategies, leveraging SAC and Datasphere for advanced reporting and planning needs.
• Leadership & Communication:
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills to guide a team in adopting SAC and Datasphere best practices.
• Ability to clearly communicate complex analytical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Additional Skills:
• Basic ABAP programming knowledge related to BI development.
• Experience with SAP BusinessObjects (Crystal Reports, WebI, Dashboards/Xcelsius, and Universe Building).
• Knowledge of broader analytics tools beyond SAP.
• Minimum of 3-5 full-cycle implementations of SAP BI/BW solutions.
• Strong business acumen in one or more areas (Finance, Supply Chain, etc.).
• Ability to work in Canada (no sponsorship provided).
• Speaking in French is an added value but not mandatory
