Billing Support Specialist I

PURPOSE
The Billing Support Specialist I is the first point of contact for customers and agents with billing-related inquiries. This entry-level role supports invoice copies, dispute status updates, statement requests, and general billing guidance. The Specialist ensures timely, professional, and clear communication while effectively triaging and escalating requests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Respond promptly to inbound inquiries related to invoices, statements, dispute statuses, and payment instructions.
• Provide step-by-step guidance on billing and dispute processes.
• Navigate multiple internal systems to research and gather necessary information.
• Escalate complex issues to appropriate teams while maintaining ownership of customer communication.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all interactions and resolutions.
• Deliver a customer-first experience through clear and empathetic communication.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfort with learning and using multiple software systems.
• High attention to detail and organizational skills.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION
• High School diploma or equivalent
• 0–2 years of customer service, billing, or administrative experience.

Work Environment: Job is typically performed in a general office environment or remote.
