About Monato

Monato is building the financial infrastructure powering payments and embedded finance across Mexico. Through our Finch platform and SPEI connectivity, we enable fintechs, retailers, and SMEs to move money reliably, at scale, and in real time.

Position Overview

We're looking for a
Junior Data Engineer
to help build and operate the data pipelines that power Monato's financial infrastructure.

This is a
hands-on, highly operational role
focused on pipelines, automation, and reliability —
not data science or machine learning
.

You'll work close to production systems, real-time transactions, and multiple financial rails, gaining exposure that is rare at this stage of a career.

What You'll Work On

  • Build and maintain
    data pipelines
    for high-volume financial transactions
  • Develop and support
    ETL processes
    , automation, and data quality checks
  • Work with
    Snowflake
    for data storage and reporting
  • Orchestrate workflows using
    Apache Airflow
  • Support AWS-based data infrastructure (Glue, monitoring, basic streaming)
  • Enable reporting and visibility for operations, reconciliation, and compliance
  • Create operational dashboards (Power BI / similar)

What We're Looking For

  • 0–2 years of experience
    in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data operations
  • Strong Python fundamentals (Pandas; PySpark is a plus, not a must)
  • Solid SQL skills
  • Understanding of pipelines, ETL, and automation concepts
  • High attention to detail — financial data has zero tolerance for errors
  • Proactive, energetic, and eager to learn in a fast-moving environment
