Summary
The Senior Logistics Coordinator (Sr. LC) handles transactional work on the accounts and will work closely with transportation providers (Carriers) and internal support teams to identify opportunities for improvement. The Logistics Coordinator is the primary transactional based day to day contact and covers the customer service role at plant level. The Sr. Logistics Coordinator plays a key role as the first point of escalation for the Logistics Coordinators, helping to plan strategies and analyze reports together with the Logistics Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate with TL carriers to confirm pickups, deliveries, and address exceptions through ProTrans' TMS.
  • Ensure smooth border crossings in collaboration with the Border team and communicate any customs deviations to the customer.
  • Arrange and monitor expedite shipments, working closely with the Expedite team.
  • Provide daily operational support and issue resolution to customer plants.
  • Escalate service-level issues to the Operations Manager when needed.
  • Communicate holiday schedules and internal process adjustments to customers.
  • Keep customers informed of performance exceptions, delays, or service impacts.
  • Ensure timely and accurate distribution of required reports (daily, weekly, monthly).
  • Collaborate with Accounts Receivable to ensure timely billing processes.
  • Lead training for new hires and serve as team leader and escalation point for the Logistics Coordinator team.
  • Develop and implement customer-specific process improvement plans.
  • Support the Logistics Manager in key projects and team performance reviews.
  • Assist in maintaining up-to-date written work instructions and process documentation.
  • Communicate goals, performance highlights, and areas for improvement to assigned teams.
  • Active participation in the achievement of the targets and objectives of the department (Profit and Customer Service Experience).
  • Participate in the Interaction with international Agents, promoting and strengthening good business relationships.
  • Follow and execute the internal-administrative processes according to the manual, forms, and stipulated guidelines.
  • Perform high quality standards in customer service experience.
  • Solving day-to-day problem
  • Develop communication and operational processes with Customers, Customer's suppliers, and Customer's plant/warehouse locations to meet service level agreed on the SOW.
  • Serve as an escalation point to address and resolve significant customer concerns.
  • Assist on startup and implementation of new accounts or additional business for existing Customers for all products and services offered by ProTrans.
  • Assist in managing CPAR/8D process when a quality issue occurs for assigned customers.

Additional, For 3PL Accounts

  • Logistics Plan Management: responsible for fully understanding the logistics plan for their customer. Gather, understand, and submit complete changes/adjustments to the plan.
  • Responsible to enter bid requests as necessary to accommodate the plan and adjustments to the plan.
  • Responsible to ensure unplanned requests are handled for the customer.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This role may serve as a team lead for an assigned work group.

Qualifications

  • Critical Thinking / Problem Solving. Utilize problem solving skills and excellent customer service to resolve complex and intricate problems within supply chain and logistics plans.
  • Serve as an integral point-of-contact stationed between both ProTrans and Customer.
  • Interact with varying levels of management and operations within a matrixed organization.
  • Remain compliant with Customs and C-TPAT regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to adapt and react to frequently changing circumstances within logistics.
  • Strong ability in time management and the maintenance of several occurring tasks and projects.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

  • +1 year of industry experience within logistics and supply chain and/or bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation, or business-related field.
  • Automotive logistics experience preferred, but not required.
  • Willing to travel both nationally and internationally to customer locations within the ProTrans International network.
  • Experience using web-based business intelligence tools and Microsoft Office.

Language Skills

  • This role requires solid verbal and written communication skills in English (bi-lingual abilities in Spanish is preferred)
  • Ability to read and interpret document such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively in English and Spanish before a group of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, trends, statistical techniques and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills
Excellent computer skills including all Microsoft Office programs.
