Regional SAP SD Specialist

Reporting to the Information System Manager Americas, the Regional SAP SD Specialist is responsible to:

• Assist in the implementation and configuration of SAP SD (Sales and Distribution) modules for various business processes, including order management, pricing, billing, and delivery.
• Support project teams by helping to define project goals, objectives, timelines, and deliverables for SAP SD implementations.
• Coordinate across functional teams (business stakeholders, IT, consultants) to ensure alignment of SAP SD solutions with business needs.
• Track project milestones and support the execution of SAP SD projects within scope, budget, and schedule.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (business users, IT, consultants) to define project goals, timelines, and deliverables.

Main activities include:

Business Needs management

• Work closely with business stakeholders to gather and document detailed business requirements for SAP SD processes.
• Analyze current business processes and identify opportunities for improvement through SAP SD and work with SAP EDI specialist
• Translate business requirements into clear, actionable SAP SD configuration specificationsAssist in the implementation and configuration of SAP SD (Sales and Distribution) modules for various business processes, including order management, pricing, billing, and delivery.

Configuration & Customization

• Configure SAP SD modules based on project requirements, including sales order processing, pricing, delivery processing, billing, and integration with other SAP modules (MM, FI, EDI, Labels, etc.).
• Conduct system testing (unit testing, integration testing) to ensure configurations meet business requirements and function correctly within the system.
• Assist in the design and configuration of new business processes and system customizations.
• Plan and execute testing phases, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for SAP SD modules.
• Ensure system configurations and processes are aligned with business requirements and industry best practices.
• Resolve any issues or defects identified during testing to ensure a smooth go-live

Project Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain project documentation, including project plans, configuration guides, test scripts, and issue logs.
• Work within an Agile or Waterfall methodology to support SAP project delivery timelines and milestones
• Report regular project status and progress to project managers and stakeholders, ensuring transparency on progress, highlighting successes, challenges, and areas for improvement and any risks or issues that may affect deadlines.
• Develop training materials and user documentation for operational support

Collaboration with Stakeholders:

• Work with key business stakeholders, functional leads, and technical consultants to ensure alignment between business requirements and SAP functionality.
• Support cross-functional teams in addressing any challenges related to SAP MM and EDI processes.
• Help drive collaboration between IT, supply chain, and operations teams to deliver high-quality SAP solutions.

Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities to streamline sales processes and improve SAP SD configurations.
• Keep up with the latest SAP SD best practices, updates, and industry trends to provide recommendations for system enhancements

 Required experience and competencies:

• University degree or Engineering School with specialization in Information
• Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Information Systems operations
• SD SAP Academy certification or related is a differential
• Familiarity with Brazil or Mexico Legal requirements and Localization SAP modules
• Proven track record in managing applications support and operations at a global level.
• Expertise in managing enterprise applications such as ERP, EDI, and manufacturing systems.
• Experience with D&IS service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
• Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and practices in the context of enterprise applications.
